Thousands of people unite as one at Unity Rally

Idaho State University in Pocatello brought everyone together Saturday afternoon as one. Mayor Brian Blad hosted a Unity Rally for the community to support that.

The rally took place in the quad area, right outside of the Student Union Building. By 3p.m. thousands of people were already there supporting unity and enjoying some good old fashion barbeque.

The event comes after the much heated controversy with discrimination toward middle eastern students at ISU.

The mayor proclaims April 30th to be “Unity and Support Day” to encourage Pocatello to embrace and appreciate the diverse community.

“You know, unity and showing that unity for each other, respect, and different things is just incredible to have that happening right now. There’s thousands of people who came out today. It’s a cold day and it may start raining at any time, but everyone came,” said Mayor Blad.
