Man arrested for attempting to strike a man with his car

Idaho Falls Police arrested Jose R. Rodriguez-Sandoval,30, Saturday night for aggravated assault, leaving the scene of an accident, and driving without privileges.

According to police reports, officers were called to the 500 block of 20th Street at around 11:30 p.m. Saturday for a fight in progress.

A man who was working security at an event there told police Rodriguez-Sandoval and another man were fighting. The victim said he attempted to break up the fight by pepper-spraying the two men. Rodriguez-Sandoval then got into a car and attempted to hit the victim.

The man got out of the way, but Rodriguez-Sandoval struck and damaged a brick wall with his car.

Although the victim sprayed him with pepper spray again, Rodriguez-Sandoval ran away.

Police were able to locate him.
