Man arrested for meth and other charges after child abuse report

Idaho Falls Police arrested 29-year-old Brandon A. Charboneau for felony possession of Methamphetamine, providing false information and a Bonneville County warrant on Thursday. The arrest occurred after police responded to a report of child abuse.

Charboneau of Idaho Falls was booked into the Bonneville County Jail.

According to the police reports, officers responded to the 400 block of North Eastern Avenue around 12:05 p.m. for a report of child abuse. The reporting party stated Charboneau threw a book at a child. Officers made contact with Charboneau, who initially provided a false name.

During their contact, officers learned he had an active warrant. While he was placed under arrest, he was found in possession of Methamphetamine.

The child was checked out by paramedics. The child’s parent declined to press charges against Charboneau.
