Update: Two vehicle crash sends one to the hospital
Update 7:00 p.m:The Idaho State Police have released additional details about a rollover crash that left one lane of northbound I-15 blocked earlier today.
At around 3:16 pm ISP responded to a two vehicle injury crash on northbound I-15 at milepost 97, just north of Blackfoot. David Salmond, age 63, of Clinton, UT, was driving northbound on I-15 in a 2008 Toyota Tundra pulling a trailer when he lost control of his trailer.Cheryl Gneiting, age 67, of Idaho Falls, ID, was also driving northbound on I-15 in a 2009 Subaru Forester. Gneiting left the roadway and came back onto the roadway. Gneiting’s vehicle overturned after striking Salmond’s trailer. Gneiting was transported by ground ambulance to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls.
The left lane of northbound traffic was blocked for approximately one hour while crews worked to clear the scene. Gneiting and Salmond were wearing their seatbelts.
The crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
Update 4:20 p.m: The Idaho State Police say traffic is flowing normally again. More details on the crash will be released as ISP wraps up their investigation.
Original Story: Idaho State Police are responding to a crash block one lane of I-15 northbound just north of Blackfoot.
The crash is at milepost 97 just north of the Blackfoot exits. ISP says one lane is completely blocked at this time.
