Pocatello man charged with first degree murder
Pocatello Police have charged Timothy David Blaney, 20-years-old with first degree murder for the death of 22-year-old Skylar T. Huffield.
According to the Pocatello Police, officers responded to a disturbance at 3842 Hawthorne Road early Wednesday morning. When the officers arrived they found a severely injured Huffield who was taken by ambulance to Portneuf Regional Medical Center. Huffielddied from those injuries Thursday.
Witnesses to the incident identified Blaney as the suspect. He was located by Pocatello Police at 6:35 am Wednesday and arrested.
Blaney is being charged with first degree murder with an enhancement for using a deadly weapon. Police say he used a 2×4 as a weapon while attacking Huffield.
Blaney is currently in the Bannock County Jail and is being held on a $1 million bond.
A public defender will be appointed for Blaney and a preliminary court date has been set for June 9th at 1:30 p.m.
