Taking precautions on the road for the holiday
Many drivers are stopping here at the gas station this weekend, as they share what safety precautions they’ve taken before getting on the road.
“We made sure the air pressure was right for the tires, because you don’t want a blow out on the freeway,” said George Garvin, Memorial Day Traveler.
Garvin and his wife are traveling to Bozeman for some pretty good reasons this weekend.
“We heard there’s some pretty good dance joints there. so, we’re going to burn the dance floor down.”
Burning down the dance floor but keeping it cool on the road. Garvin says he hasn’t seen any problems so far.
“Thankfully we haven’t had any problems at all. There hasn’t been any traffic. And the paparazzi has kept clear of us. Everything has been pretty good,” Garvin said jokingly.
Like many drivers Garvin will be tagging along his trailer in route to his destinations.
Him and his wife have taken care of the oil and tires, among many more to stay safe on the road. His journey doesn’t end soon.
“We’re going down the 89 and then from Livingston to Yellowstone and then spend a couple nights out of Garner.”
Another thing for those hitting the road, gas prices are down by about 43 cents compared to this time last year.
