Chubbuck police arrest man who threatened others with a fake grenade

The Chubbuck Police arrested a homeless man after he threatened others with what police say was a non-functioning grenade.

On July 1st at 7:40 PM Officers with the Chubbuck Police responded to the area of 4100 Yellowstone Ave in reference to an intoxicated male. Callers told police that the man, Elliot Johnnie, was asking people for money and when they refused he was showing them a non-functioning grenade.

Johnnie was located a short time later by patrol officers and was arrested for felony possession of a hoax device and he was incarcerated at the Bannock County Detention Facility.

Johnnie is a 58 year age transient who frequents the Pocatello/Chubbuck area.
