Brush fire burns near homes in Chubbuck

Fire crews worked quickly to douse a brush fire in Chubbuck Saturday evening.

It was reported at about 9 p.m. near Siphon and Hiline Roads.

Flames and smokes could be seen across the valley as the fire spread.

As of 11 p.m. the fire seemed to be smoldering, but firefighters were still on scene.

Kathy Patterson Brown told us they saw the flames near their home around 9 p.m. and called 911.

Chubbuck and Ft. Hall fire departments responded to the brush fire.

Firefighters said no homes were evacuated. They don’t know what started the fire.
