One cyclist dead after collision with car

The Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office has identified Ann Davis, 22, of Virginia as the female victim of a fatal bicycle crash near Iona Wednesday night. Another female cyclist, Laura Stark, 25, from Michigan was listed in critical condition Thursday at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

The women were part of a group of approximately 22 cyclists traveling across the country from Virginia to Oregon to raise money. The group, known as Bike and Build, was in Idaho Falls to help with a project sponsored by Habitat for Humanity.

The driver of the vehicle, a 2005 Chevrolet Malibu, was Patricia Beyer, 33, of Idaho Falls. Beyer was treated and released at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center for injuries she sustained in the crash.

Deputies said a number of motorists stopped to help, some of whom were doctors and nurses.

ORIGINAL STORY:

Just after six Wednesday evening Bonneville County Sheriff’s Deputies and Idaho Falls Ambulance responded to an injury crash on Hwy 26 near 75th E. involving a West bound vehicle that collided with 2 bicyclists traveling in a group, also west bound.

Both of the bicyclists were transported by Idaho Falls Ambulances to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. One of the bicyclists, a22 year old female from Virginia died due to injuries from the crash.

A 25 year old female victim from Michigan is currently in EIRMC being treated for critical injuries received in the crashed.

The driver of the vehicle, a 33-year-old female from Idaho Falls, was also transported to EIRMC with non life threatening injuries.

Deputies are still investigating the cause of the crash and names of those involved are not being released at this time pending family notification. The bicyclists were part of an out of state group riding across country.
