Update: Brother and sister die after backyard pool incident

Update 10:20 am: The 8-year-old brother of a girl that died Tuesday after drowning in a backyard pool, has also died from injuries in the same incident.

According to a Go Fund Me page set up to benefit the family, 8-year-old Jaxon Jolley died this morning from his injuries at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

His sister, 11-year-old Kortnie, died Tuesday evening after CPR and other life saving measures failed.

A Go Fund Me page has been set up to help the family with medical costs and funeral expenses.

Original Story: An 11-year-old girl has died after she drowned in a backyard pool at a home in the south end of Blackfoot.

According to the Blackfoot Police, Blackfoot Fire EMS was called to a home on the south end of Blackfoot to help two unresponsive children. The 11-year-old girl and her 8-year-old brother were swimming in a backyard pool.

Both children were given CPR at the home and then taken to Bingham Memorial Hospital. The girl was pronounced dead at the hospital. The boy was flown to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center where he is listed in critical condition.

Out of respect to the family no additional details will be given on the incident.
