Snake River Animal Shelter celebrates 1 year anniversary

It’s the Snake River Animal Shelter’s one year anniversary this month, and to celebrate, it had an ice cream social on Thursday.

Families enjoyed cool ice cream sundaes while they played with the animals. In one year, the shelter has helped almost 500 animals find homes. The SRAS said all of its success so far comes from the many supporters and volunteers they have daily.

“Our shelter operates entirely on donations, sponsorships, and grants. The very reason we’re here is because of community support. And in that time we’ve been able to make a huge impact. As you can see, we’re crawling with kittens down here at the shelter, so we hope people can come on down,” said SRAS executive director Kristin Sanger.

If anyone wants to adopt a pet, the Snake River Animal Shelter is open Monday through Saturday.
