ISP Trooper Hit While Escorting National Christmas Tree

Idaho State Police reports an accident on Highway 55, involving a trooper on Sunday.

ISP said Trooper Brandalyn Crapo was involved in a crash on Highway 55 at milepost 77, in Boise County.

Trooper Crapo was leading the official escort motorcade of the National Christmas tree from McCall to Boise, when a 2001 Dodge truck crossed the centerline and collided with Trooper Crapo’s patrol car.

ISP said she was flown to St. Alphonsus hospital in Boise, where she was treated for minor injuries.

The driver of the truck, 45-year-old Michael Shields, was also evaluated for injuries at the scene.

The Boise County Sheriff’s office is still investigating this incident.
