EIRMC reaches half-way mark in its 30,000 canned food drive

Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center is celebrating its 30 year anniversary. To celebrate, EIRMC is giving back to the community by having a 30,000 canned food drive.

Its 1,000 cans for each year EIRMC has been in service, and ERIMC just broke its half-way mark. The canned food count is at more than 18,000.

“People can participate in the food drive in one of two ways or both. They can actually come and donate physical cans right here in EIRMC. They can drop them off in the lobby. Or they can go on our website, http://EIRMC30years.com, and there’s a virtual canned food drive, where people can go on, and they can enter their email address, click submit, and EIRMC will buy the cans each time they do that. So we buy cans on their behalf,” said Jessica Clements, EIRMC’s community relations specialist.

Eleven food banks and pantries in EIRMC’s service area, from Driggs to Shelley, will be benefiting from this canned food drive once it’s over at the end of the year.
