Memorial service Tuesday for fallen Boise K-9

The Boise K-9 officer “Jardo” killed in the line of duty in Boise earlier this month will be laid to rest in Boise on Tuesday, Nov. 22.

According to Boise CBS affiliate KBOI, The memorial service will start at 3 p.m., and will be held at the Taco Bell Arena, located at 1401 Bronco Lane in Boise. The doors will open to the public at 1:30 p.m.

Jardo and Boise Police officers Chris Davis and Kevin Holtry were all hurt in the Friday searching for Marco Romero, who was wanted for shooting two people and carjacking an elderly woman in Meridian. Holtry was sent to the hospital.

“He truly was a hero,” Boise PD chief Bill Bones told KBOI.”He went above and beyond of what could be expected of any K9 or any patrol officer to save his fellow officers, and I do consider this an in the line of duty death for our K9.”
