Snake River Animal Shelter hosts a holiday open house
The Snake River Animal Shelter is holding a holiday open house to benefit homeless animals.
Santa Claus was at the shelter spending time with animals and the families who stopped by. There were prizes, a silent auction, a hot cocoa bar and a gingerbread house contest.
Last year, the shelter served more than 700 animals. It is the only nonprofit shelter in the area, so it put on this event to raise money to provide for homeless animals.
“We operate entirely on sponsorships, donations, and grants. The holiday open house is one way for us to create some exposure for our wonderful animals that are housed here, as well as raise a little bit of money to help provide for them,” said Kristin Sanger, the shelter’s director.
