Forecast for DEC 20th

A snowstorm moves in for Tuesday, with a few new inches possible for the Plain. A Drier pattern sets up for the middle of the week with another winter storm moving in for the Christmas weekend. Tonight, overcast with temps staying steady near 10°. Slight chance of some snow flurries. Tuesday, cloudy skies with on-and-off snow showers. Most areas will see just snow, but Pocatello and lower along the Snake River will see afternoon rain mixing in. Highs much warmer, topping out in the upper 20’s and 30’s. 2-4″ for locations north and east of Blackfoot. Heavy snowfall amounts possible for the high country, with another 4-8″ of new fall for those locations. Wednesday, partly cloudy to mostly clear with just a few AM snow showers in western Wyoming. Highs will be mainly in the 20’s and low 30’s. Note: As Wednesday is the Winter Solstice, winter officially starts today. That also means the days will slowly grow longer from here!
