Woman driving stolen car arrested for multiple felonies
An Idaho Falls woman was arrested for multiple felony crimes after officers spotted her driving a stolen vehicle.
39‐year‐old Tyra D. Castillo was arrested for unlawful possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of stolen property, resisting arrest, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and carrying a concealed weapon Monday morning. She was booked into the Bonneville County Jail.
According to the police report, officers observed a Chevrolet Tahoe with stolen license plates in the Winco parking lot around 12:08 a.m. Officers made contact with the driver, Castillo, who started to fight police as she attempted to flee. Officers had to ‘drive stun’ Castillo with a Taser.
Castillo was found in possession of a Beretta 9mm handgun, psilocybin mushrooms, a scale and syringes. The passenger, 27‐year‐old Taisha A. Thompson of Bonneville County, was also arrested for an Idaho Falls and Bonneville County warrant.
