Our next storm system is pushing in from the West for Wednesday night into Thursday. Most of the heavy snowfall will happen in the Magic and Treasure valleys, with difficult road conditions expected along the I-84. We’ll look for 1-3″ of new snowfall for Eastern Idaho by this weekend. The worst time on the roads will be Thursday and Friday with snow and freezing rain possibilities. Wednesday, partly cloudy skies with breezes out of the southwest. Count on a few late afternoon snow showers in the central mountains with the rest of us staying fairly dry. Highs will be considerably warmer (by winter standards), topping out in the 20’s and low 30’s. Tonight, overcast skies with lows staying steady in the 10’s and low 20’s. A few snow showers are possible. Chance of snow 50%. Light snow accumulations are possible. Thursday, scattered snow showers with a cloudy sky. A high near 25° to 30° in the Plain. New snow accumulation of around an inch possible. Friday, A 50% chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 30°. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible. Saturday, mainly cloudy again with a 40% chance at snow. Light snowfall accumulations. Highs into the upper 20’s for the Snake River Plain.
