ISP asking for help to identify driver who caused crash on I-15

Idaho State Police are asking for the public’s help to identify a driver that caused a crash on I-15 Wednesday morning.

ISP says at about 9:40 a.m. they investigated a crash on northbound I-15 near the Sunnyside Exit. 24-year-old Emily Chatterton, of Pocatello, was driving a 2006 Volvo passenger car when a black vehicle in front of her suddenly braked and made an illegal u-turn in the emergency crossover. Chatterton tried to avoid a collision and lost control of her vehicle rolling onto the right shoulder. She was taken to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center by ground ambulance. She was wearing a seatbelt.

Idaho State Police is requesting that if anyone saw this incident, to please contact dispatch by calling 208-525-7277 so they can assist in identifying the driver of the other vehicle.

The Idaho State Police also wants to remind motorists that the median crossovers on highways are for use by authorized and emergency vehicles only. They should not be used to make u-turns.
