Simulated accident tests Bingham responders
A variety of agencies participated in a life-like training event in Blackfoot Thursday. Bingham Memorial Hospital, the Idaho Simulation Network, and Blackfoot Fire Department used an anatomically correct manikin to exercise emergency and medical staff. According to a hospital spokesperson, the simulation prepared both EMS responders and the hospital for a car accident. In the scenario, a pregnant mother and a five-year-old boy were trapped inside their vehicle. Blackfoot firemen extracted the victims and prepared them for transport. The hospital emergency team assessed the the patients and ordered tests exactly as they would in a real accident.
