Update: Two commerical vehicle crash on I-15 cleared

Update 2:45 pm: A crash involving two commercial vehicles blocked traffic on northbound I-15 for two hours Monday afternoon according to Idaho State Police.

ISP says 21-year-old Dario Alvarez was traveling south on I-15 near milepost 92 hauling two trailers with a 2006 Freightliner truck when one of the wheel assemblies on a trailer separated and went across the median hitting another commercial vehicle in the northbound lanes. The 2nd vehicle, a 2017 Volvo tractor hauling a trailer, was being driven by 70-year-old Michael Laabs of Chubbuck.

The accident occurred at 11:20 am and the right lane for northbound travel was blocked for two and a half hours as crews cleared the scene.

ISP says a commercial vehicle has crash on the road at milepost 81 near Fort Hall. Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area if possible.
