Valentine’s Day Jump-A-Thon

One classroom had a jump-a-thon for Valentine’s Day. The students raised money in the form of pledges and the money will go toward the American Heart Association. This sixth grade class has already raised $450.

It all started when the class read a book about acts of kindness. So for Valentine’s Day, the students wanted to have their own jump-a-thon. The class was able to collect pledge money from different local businesses, listed below:

The kids will also write letters to the American Heart Association to tell them about their acts of kindness.

“This has got to be the most compassionate group of kids I’ve ever taught. And just to see that they’re doing, this is amazing,” said Bobbi Jean Rooney, the student’s sixth grade teacher.

Last year, the class had more than 19,000 jumps, and this year the class hopes to reach 30,000.
