Road construction to begin on 17th Street and St. Clair intersection

Starting Wednesday construction work on the 17th Street and St. Clair Road intersection will begin. In an effort to reduce the impact on traffic in the area the intersection will remain open during construction with possible evening closures.

The project includes construction of approximately 900 feet of pipeline to replace the canal along the east side of St. Clair Road. Work will begin just south of the Big Lots store. Crews will also replace the existing pipe under 17th Street and end just north of Great Harvest Bread Company.

The work will accommodate a future roadway-widening project to add turn lanes on St. Clair Road at its intersection with 17th Street.

Construction hours will be from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The duration of the project is approximately one month.
