Broncos defeat Utes, advance in NIT

The Boise State men’s basketball team captured momentum late in the fourth quarter as the Broncos beat the Runnin’ Utes 73-68 in the first round of the National Invitation Tournament Tuesday night.

After trailing by seven at the half, the Broncos outscored Utah 17-7 in the final six-plus minutes at the Hunstman Center. Junior guard Chandler Hutchinson scored a game-high 34 points for BSU, and freshman guard Marcus Dickinson added 12 points off the bench.

Boise State advances to play Illinois in the second round, date and time to be determined.
