Update: Phone services restored to Jefferson County Courthouse
Update 4:54 pm: Phone services at the Jefferson County Courthouse have been restored and all operations are returning to normal. Officials with the county say the outage was caused by failed circuit breaker.
Original Story: Due to a system malfunction, all telephone and internet systems in the Jefferson County Courthouse are currently unavailable. The problem was most likely caused by an electrical issue that is currently being repaired.
Jefferson County officials hoped the service would be repaired Friday afternoon or evening.
While the issue is being repaired, emergency 911 calls are being routed through Madison County.
Other courthouse services are also affected and may not be available through the rest of Friday. All services will be available again at 9 a.m. Monday.
