One arrested following chase near downtown Idaho Falls

Idaho State Police arrested a wanted man following a short police chase through Idaho Falls Saturday evening.

ISP said a trooper attempted to pull a man over near F Street. The chase ended a short time later near Shoup Avenue and G Street when the suspect tried to drive through the back yard of a home and got stuck.

The suspect took off on foot but was detained a short time later by troopers. During the chase, troopers say the suspect disposed of drug paraphernalia and a scale. The suspect suffered minor injuries during the chase and was taken to the hospital by ambulance. Troopers say he told paramedics he “was high on meth”.

The suspect’s name has not been released and police have not said why he was wanted.

Idaho Falls Police and Bonneville County sheriff’s deputies assisted ISP.
