Rising waterways begin to threaten western Wyoming roads

Wyoming Department of Transportation maintenance crews are working to protect areas of US 191 that could be affected by high flowing water from local streams and rivers. One area on US 191 north of Bondurant at milepost 14 is experiencing some bank deterioration from the Hoback River. WYDOT crews will be monitoring state highways that could be affected by varying temperatures and snowpack levels. Speeds have been reduced in the area and a single lane closure has been implemented. The closure will remain in effect until the work is completed. Travelers are advised to use extreme caution in the area and be prepared for reduced speeds and slight delays. WYDOT said it would not hesitate to close roads if conditions deteriorate and become unsafe.
