Outage affects Rocky Mountain Power customers

UPDATE: 4 p.m. Rocky Mountain Power crews have restored power to most of those affected by outages Friday afternoon. About 212 customers are still without power west of Grant. Crews now expect to restore power to all of those affected there by 6:30 p.m. 42 customers are affected by an outage in Rigby. Crews are currently investigating the cause of that disruption. Power has been restored to customers affected by a power line fire in the Idaho Falls area. UPDATE: 2:45 p.m. Rocky Mountain Power is attempting to restore electricity service to approximately 1,221 customers. There are 7 separate outages. The largest, west of Grant, in Jefferson County, is affecting 761 customers. It was caused by a utility pole fire. Repair crews expect to have power restored by 3:30 p.m. Another northeast of Idaho Falls affected 407 customers. It was also caused by a utility pole fire. Repair crews are on the scene and expect to complete repairs by 4:30 p.m. ORIGINAL STORY: Rocky Mountain Power is attempting to restore electricity service to approximately 1,218 customers. There are three separate outages northeast of Idaho Falls in Bonneville County affecting 1004 customers. There are two outages west of Grant and in Rigby in Jefferson County affecting about 214 customers. There was no immediate information on the cause of the outages.
