Mormon and Evangelical speakers explain their faith

Two of the many groups in Idaho Falls that feel passionate about their faith will have a chance Thursday night to understand each other better.

Members of the Christ Community Church have put together an event at the Civic Auditorium where two well known speakers from each religion will have a civil conversation about their beliefs – BYU religion professor Dr. Brad Wilcox and pastor and author Steve Crane from the Eagle Christian Church.
Pastor Jeff Kennedy from Christ Community Church explains why they organized this.

“Our first goal was to model civil conversation, but our second goal is really to define some terms,” Kennedy said. “We want to hear from the LDS community, what do they mean when they use terms like God, Jesus, faith, and what do we mean by those things and are there really any difference, and if there are, do they matter?”

An Evangelical-Mormon Conversation will take place Thursday evening at 7pm at the Idaho Falls Civic Auditorium. It’s free. Everyone is welcome. You can find out more about it at bradandsteve.com.
