Crapo comments on shooting at Republican baseball

Idaho Senator Mike Crapo issued the following statement on today’s early morning’s shooting that occurred as Republican members of Congress were practicing for the Congressional Baseball Game, an annual charity event raising money for literacy efforts in Washington, D.C.

“While this investigation is still unfolding, I send my prayers to Congressman Scalise and the other victims who were injured. I also commend and thank the men and women of the U.S. Capitol Police. The Capitol Police, a highly-trained force, put their lives on the line to protect members of Congress, staff and visitors to the Capitol on a daily basis. This is one more example of why all Americans should be thankful for the men and women who serve our nation and communities as first responders.”
