War Bonnet Round Up Rodeo is kicking off
The oldest rodeo in Idaho is gearing up. This is the 106th year of the War Bonnet Round Up Rodeo, and there are some new things guests will see this year.
There are more than 175 volunteers helping put on this year’s rodeo, and more than $100,000 dollars worth of prize money for the contestants. Part of the line up of talent this year — a “Duel Western Act” by cowboy’s A.J. and Loop Rawlins.
“I was here at the War Bonnet Round Up last year and it was a lot of fun. A good friend of mine, Angelo here, is joining me this time to do a duo act. So both of us will be performing at the same time and I don’t think there’s an act in rodeo that’s quite like it,” Rawlins said.
“[I’m] excited to be with the rodeo this year, it’s going to be an amazing rodeo — some of the best contestants in the business. Luke and I are excited to perform together. We represent the cowboy all over the world,” A.J. said.
The kick in downtown Idaho Falls is tonight from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The rodeo officially starts Thursday evening at 5 p.m.
Tickets can still be purchased at multiple locations throughout Idaho Falls or here.
