I love ISU campaign gears up for another year
The annual “I love ISU” campaign is back again.
On Thursday, the campaign got a jumpstart on its fundraising with a large donation.
ISU Credit Union presented the campaign with a check for $8,000.
“I Love ISU” raises money from the community and businesses to help ISU students with scholarships.
This year, the campaign will run from Sept. 11 to Sept. 14. The calling for the Idaho Falls area will be Sept. 6. The official kickoff for the campaign will be at tailgating before ISU’s first home football game of the season on Aug. 31.
Steven Muse, chair of the campaign, said they raised $225,000 last year and they are looking to beat that this year.
So the goal for 2017 is $250,000.
“I think with increased enrollment, increased need, increased love from the community, we could make that,” Muse said.
ISU Credit Union has been donating to the campaign for several years.
“With Idaho State University, our roots run deep,” said B.J. Fillingame, marketing manager for ISU Credit Union. “We’ve been partnering as a credit union since 1952 so really it’s just a way of furthering our commitment with the university and really, at the end of the day, it’s about the students so we’re excited to help out where we can.”
“They just poured the blessing out on this campaign with an $8,000 jumpstart and I think that is the start of many donations to come,” Muse said. “We are so grateful for their generosity.”
