Christopher Tapp arrested for domestic violence

UPDATE 2 p.m.: Christopher Tapp, 41, of Idaho Falls was arrested on misdemeanor domestic battery and misdemeanor interruption of a telecommunication device Monday.

During his arraignment Tuesday afternoon, Tapp was ordered to be held on $7,500 bond.

Prosecutors claimed Tapp made 15 calls to the victim, despite a no-contact order. Defense attorneys said Tapp was not aware of that order. Judge Stephen Gardner said he did not have that order on file

During the calls, made from the Bonneville County jail Tapp told the victim what to say during legal proceedings. Police listened in on those calls.

Prosecutors said the victim was “scared to death” of Tapp.

A new two-year no-contact order was ordered by the judge extending through October 17, 2019.

Tapp pleaded not guilty to the charges. His next hearing is scheduled October 25.

Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to a report of a disturbance on O’Bryant St. around 1:12 p.m.

The Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office reports Tapp and his wife had been in an altercation that turned physical.

Sgt. Bryan Lovell reports during the altercation, “Mrs. Tapp attempted to get a cell phone to call police but was prevented from doing so by Mr. Tapp.”

Lovell said she did not require medical attention, but deputies did observe minor injuries.

Tapp’s wife Stacy Tapp commented on our Facebook page and said the following:
