Idaho Falls man charged in baby’s death

Idaho Falls Police have arrested Robert Saad of Idaho Falls for a 2016 shaken baby death.

According to police reports Saad called 911 at 11:45 a.m. on September 15, 2016 to report his 9-month-old son was unresponsive. Emergency responders were called to the 1700 block of South Higbee then transported the child to the hospital by ambulance.

Due to the suspicious nature of the child’s death, Idaho Falls Police launched an investigation. Saad was arrested during a traffic stop on Friday and taken into custody without incident.

Saad was arraigned on charges of first-degree murder Monday, and his preliminary hearing is set for November 17.
