Results begin to roll in as polls close
Polls have closed in eastern Idaho where voters are deciding municipal leadership and some significant local issues.
Early reports indicate turnout was fairly high, especially in Bonneville and Bannock Counties where Mayoral races and major bond issues drew voters to the polls.
Voters in Bannock County are deciding a $16 million jail and crisis center bond issue, while Idaho Falls school district patrons decide a $110 million school bond.
Teton County voters are also deciding a large $30 million bond issue to decide school needs.
In Custer County, a $5.5 million bond would help pay for renovation and modernization of the Challis courthouse and county jail.
Blackfoot voters are deciding a $5 million bond aimed at making improvements to the city swimming pool. Bingham County is deciding whether or not to join the College of Eastern Idaho taxing district.
And the popularity of a new restaurant led to an initiative to allow the sale of liquor by the drink in Menan.
