Crash slows traffic on US 91
UPDATE: 2 p.m.
All lanes of US 91 were reopened by 2 p.m. Tuesday
ORIGINAL STORY:
Southbound lanes of US 91 were blocked for much of the day Tuesday as Idaho State Police investigated a three vehicle crash.
It happened about 9:53 a.m. at the intersection of West 65th South and US 91 near Idaho Falls. No one was injured.
ISP said Brett Jensen, 50, of Idaho Falls was eastbound on W 65 S in a 2000 Kenworth commercial vehicle. It slid on icy roads into the intersection and came to rest in the southbound lanes of US 91.
Nora Butler, 24, of Firth was southbound on US 91 in a 2007 Pontiac Grand Am. She collided with Jensen’s vehicle. Both of those vehicles were then struck by a southbound 2016 Chevy Silverado driven by Mike Adams, 62, of Ririe.
All of the occupants were wearing seat belts and none of them required hospitalization. Southbound lanes of US 91 were still blocked Tuesday afternoon as crews worked to clear the scene.
