Jordan to take break from legislative duties to campaign
State Rep. Paulette Jordan says she’s taking next week off from the Legislature to campaign for governor in southern Idaho.
The Democrat from Plummer and the only Native American lawmaker currently serving in the Idaho Statehouse tells the Lewiston Tribune that she intends to have a substitute cover for her and won’t miss any votes.
She says some details are still being worked out and declined to say who the substitute will be.
Jordan announced her run for governor in December. She faces Boise businessman A.J. Balukoff in the May 15 gubernatorial primary.
