Recent snowfall triggers parking restrictions in Idaho Falls
The recent snowfall in Idaho Falls exceeded two inches, which qualifies as a snow event under the City’s Snow and Ice Control Polices and Procedures Manual.
Parking restrictions are in place.
The city wants all vehicles moved off all Idaho Falls roadways to allow room for plows to clear the roads.
If the snow melts, and plowing becomes ineffective or is not efficient, plowing will be stopped.
Streets have already started plowing priority 1 and 2 streets.
Residents are encouraged to move their cars off the road to allow the plows to be most effective.
Any vehicles parked on streets within Idaho Falls after a snow event is triggered will be subject to ticketing and towing in accordance with snow removal parking restrictions.
Below is a map for all the restrictions can be seen here.
During the snow event, starting on March 5th, there will be no parking on east and west streets from midnight to 8 a.m. on odd calendar days.
On March 6th, there will be no parking on north and south streets on even calendar days.
