Boise hosts to benefit from March Madness bookings

Boise Airbnb hosts expect to earn about $120,000 thanks to the first and second round NCAA men’s regional basketball tournament at Boise State University this week.

Booking data indicates there will be 1,220 Airbnb guest arrivals through March 18. The nightly price of a booked listing in Boise is $69.

The typical host will earn $300. Airbnb also pointed out that many of its visitors would also spend money in neighborhoods that haven’t traditionally benefited from tourism.

The top guest origin cities for guest arrivals this week include fans from the homes of participating teams, including the University of Arizona and Gonzaga University (Washington). Other guests are expected from California, Utah, Montana, Oregon, Texas, Nevada, and Colorado.
