Idaho Falls workers earn below national average
A new report from the federal Bureau of Labor Statistics shows Idaho Falls workers earn 14 percent less than the national average.
Latest agency statistics, from 2017, indicate the average Idaho Falls worker earned $20.95 per hour in May of last year compared to a national average $24.34 per hour.
Architecture and engineering occupations were the highest paid at $47.27 per hour, followed by management occupations at $41.51. Those occupations, though, accounted for 3.5 percent of local employment compared to 1.8 percent nationally.
The largest share of local employment, 14.4 percent, was in office and administrative support occupations.
