Wyoming worker rescued from collapsed ditch

A Wyoming man is recovering at his home after he was trapped in a collapsed ditch for about two hours before rescuers were able to dig him out.

Travis White of Cody was extracted Tuesday afternoon by the Cody Fire Department from a 10-foot high ditch he had been digging with a mini-excavator at a residence.

The Cody Enterprise reports that White suffered a broken ankle and was released from West Park Hospital on Wednesday morning.

When the dirt started to collapse around him, White said he was able to call to his mom, who had happened to stop by, to get help.

White says that he’s lucky his mom happened to stop by and that another construction crew was working nearby.
