Sugar Salem baseball takes down Shelley Russets

The Shelley Russets baseball team is in the thick of things in their conference and are looking to move up before districts start.

Russets hosted Sugar Salem on senior night.

In the fourth inning, Diggers have the bases loaded, Curtis Drake drives one deep to centerfield, Peyton Whitaker makes the catch, Kyzon Garner comes in to score, Diggers lead five to four.

Later in the inning, Jace Hansen comes up with runners in scoring position. He lines one up the middle bringing home Caleb Norman and Grady Rasmussen, Diggers lead is now 7 to 4.

The Russets making some noise in the bottom of the fth, Austin Bateman smokes a ball down the left field line into the corner brining Austin Wattenburger and Cordell Shurtliff from first.

It was a back and forth game, Sugar comes out on top 15 to 13.
