Gas leak in Idaho Falls near Sandcreek Commons

Construction crews hit a gas line which caused a gas leak at the corner of Sunnyside and Eagle near the Sandcreek Commons around 9:30 a.m. Friday.

Crews said they noticed the leak when vapors started coming out of the site they were working on.
Officials report the gas line has been closed and is being worked on.
Firefighters blocked off the street from Hillcrest High School to Hitt Road on Sunnyside as a precaution. The street is expected to be opened around 11:30 a.m.

Officials report crews have the situation contained.

No injuries were reported.
