Woolf named Lemhi County Magistrate

Canyon County public defender Andrew Robert Woolf has been selected as the new Lemhi County Magistrate Judge. He will succeed the retiring Judge Stephen J. Clark on September 2, 2018.

Seventh Judicial District Magistrates Commission Chair, Administrative District Judge Joel Tingey announced the appointment Friday.

Three applicants interviewed for the position. Tingey said both he and the commission were confident the people of Lemhi County and the Seventh Judicial District will be well-served.

Woolf receive a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2006 from Utah State University in Logan, Utah and his Juris Doctorate degree in 2016 from Thomas Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan.

Woolf has worked as a public defender in Canyon County since 2014. Prior to that, he had his own private law practice with a focus on family law, bankruptcy, immigration and landlord-tenant matters.
