Teen dies in early morning fatal crash

Idaho Falls police said an 18-year old motorcycle driver died early Tuesday morning after getting hit by an SUV.

It happened at around 5:00 a.m. on the southbound on-ramp of I-15 and Sunnyside Avenue.

Police said the driver of a silver Range Rover heading westbound on Sunnyside was turning south onto the interstate on-ramp when the motorcycle heading east collided with the SUV.

Idaho Falls police arrived within six minutes and immediately started CPR in an effort to revive the motorcyclist.

Police said, although he was wearing a helmet and protective gear, he died upon impact.

Traffic was blocked for about two hours in that area but is now back open.
