A busy summer at Yellowstone Park

June was busy in Yellowstone National Park.

According to Park officials, June was the second busiest on record.

Yellowstone hosted 810,884 visits, a slight increase over last year, but below the record high 838,316 visitors of June 2016, the busiest June ever.

So far this year, the park has hosted 1,381,707 visits. That is up 2.5 percent from the same time period last year. 2016 was the busiest year of the last five with 1,432,071 visits.

The big numbers prompted the park to issue a big reminder; make sure to plan ahead of time, expect delays or limited parking at popular destinations, and check road conditions before you arrive.
