Clothing retailer to shoot catalog at elk refuge

The historic Miller Ranch on the National Elk Refuge will be featured in an L.L. Bean Christmas catalog this year.

Visitors are welcome to watch the professional photo shoot, tentatively scheduled Tuesday and again Saturday at around noon.

To make it fit the season, L.L. Bean producers will create and apply artificial snow to the areas of the ranch appearing in the pictures. Models will be sporting the company’s new line of winter clothing with an array of props to portray the Christmas event.

The Refuge staff will get into the spirit with holiday music while the Grand Teton Association sales outlet sells ornaments.

While visitors may watch, photos are not allowed. The company doesn’t want images shared before the catalog is released in November 2018.

Public access to the Miller House grounds will be restricted to only the production crew outside of designated business hours. Schedules and last minute changes may be found here.
