Late Teton County taxpayers running out of time

Teton County, Wyoming property owners with outstanding 2017 property tax bills are running out of time to avoid an annual Property Tax Lien Sale scheduled August 8.

As of July 25, the Treasurer’s Office says there are outstanding balances on 51 real property parcels. There are also delinquent taxes due on 11 mobile homes and 82 business entities. The treasurer can accept payment on the outstanding balances until Tuesday, August 7.

“It can be difficult to track down individual owners or ownership entities when it comes to delinquent property taxes, so we want to make sure that we get the word out as much as possible prior to the annual Property Tax Lien Sale every year,” said Donna Baur, Teton County Treasurer. “Ideally, property owners can remedy the situation prior to a third party purchasing the tax lien for the parcel.”

Additional information on the county’s upcoming tax lien sale can be found here.
