New artwork decorating downtown

A few weeks ago, we told you about an art project coming to Downtown Idaho Falls. Well, it’s here.

The first of many traffic cabinets is now wrapped in local artwork. It is at the intersection of Broadway and Capital. The artwork is from the Art Museum of Eastern Idaho’s private collection.

They say there is more to come.

“It’s from Marilyn Hanson’s work. The title is ‘Midday and Morning’ which is the name of the two horses that are featured in the piece here on Broadway and Capital. We have all of the traffic cabinets up and down Yellowstone to wrap in the downtown area,” says Catherine Smith with Downtown Development.

The project is funded by a grant from the CHC Foundation and the Idaho Falls Historic Downtown Foundation. The artwork is being wrapped by Sign Pro. They hope to get all of the traffic cabinets done in the next few weeks.
