ITD to hold meeting to discuss I-15/I-86 interchange plans

The Idaho Transportation Department will be holding a meeting to allow the people of Bannock County to voice their opinions on the I-15/I-86 interchange plans Tuesday at 5 p.m. at Highland High School.

ITD concluded the current bridges have reached their services lives.

With an already approved plan, the department will replace the bridges and change the interchange.

ITD’s Eric Staats says they want people to come out tonight to give their “honest opinions.” It is their thoughts that will help shape the design and other aspects of the project.

Currently, drivers enter and exit on the left side, something that makes drivers uncomfortable. As part of the construction, these will be moved to the more natural right side.

The project is expected to begin in 2022, lasting until sometime in 2023. More information about the construction can found on ITD’s website.
